HI, I would like to say I love the site and it is great to see the support of the people for our president. This election has really inspired me as a single black mother of two small children, that there is hope for the future for my children. But also it has inspired my dreams to persue my non-profit organization that is in preperation that will hopefully be launched ny this time next year. I look forward to the change thats over due, for the advancement in jobs, education, our economy and so many others areas that have yet to be explain. I was a voter this election and I feel that my vote did count this time for somethng. I send my prayers and love for President and family and thanks for the inspiration and guidance that is beeing expressed through his leadership for one man kind. (Lilburn, Ga. residence,2009)

We just had our annual Music City Marathon and because of this heat, one runner has died, The emergency rooms are filling up. This heat is very unusual for this time of year(April 25). The temp is usually in the 70's. Nice meeting you and God bless you.

It was Indeed a Most Beautiful Day on our planet and we hope to have another Day like that!! Say it loud and say it proud: President Barack Hussein Obama~ wow. Hello, I live in Lyon, France Dear Friends, Today our planet changes forever. We're moving into a new era of untold change and enthusiasm. Like many of you, I'll be watching the ceremony with a heart full of pride for my small part, full of hope for the future, and full of joy at the coming together of a nation that has been so divided for so long. Never in my lifetime did I think I would see this day. In fifty years, I hope to retain the same joy when I speak of how it felt to see this occasion. We are part of something big and we are all invested in its future. Let's continue to work together to keep our momentum going. We are part of a movement now and if we stay united, there is nothing we can't accomplish. Thank you all for your help and support and thank you for letting me be a small part of it. Respectfully, essomba Good Luck Mr President Barack H. Obama

I was moved to tears lots of times watching that historic moment. How far that country has come since the 60s! No wonder so many of those who had come from all over America to be there were in tears and how wonderful to see their smiles and hear all they were saying. This is the most wonderful day - thank you, America, for electing this amazing man. I wish him and all of us a more hopeful future.

It is a good thing that the world looks at the American government in a new light. We needed this for some time. Let's just hope people do not become upset when Obama doesn't fix everything in the first six months. We have along road ahead of us.

Republicans remind me so much of the British Conservative Party. They do a lot of talking but never seem to have any answers to the big questions or even the basics. Obama winning has made a difference throughout the world. It's a moment in history that will help heal the world and unite it for the challenges ahead. Your work in creating this group and for your views expressed across the media have helped to gain that victory. There are 250,000 Americans in the UK. And you can be be sure that many heard your interviews and felt their vote counted.

An unbearable lightness of being American ...
Christina Martinez, London, UK
Hi Carole Thanks for a great time last night. Nothing beats CNN coverage over BBC. Just wanted to quickly say that there was nothing "silly" about praying everyday for this victory to happen. I often think Americans feel they have to walk on eggshells when they're anywhere but home. Granted there's reason to, we should be proud of our values and stand tall. Shoot, if there is something out there, he or she sure heard our prayers because history has been made and we're up for a brighter future!!! Change and Obama - our daily cup of tea from here on out! Best regards, hope to see you some time again, Christina - London via Las Vegas, NV (a battleground state now blue!)

Looking forward to being proud of our leadership again really soon. Feel rather sorry for John McCain, seeing as how he's given up most of his principles pandering to the social conservatives who elected George Bush. Would like to see this country known for more than nasty politicians who believe military power a good substitute for effective foreign policy and diplomatic skills. Regards! Always good to find a site for expatraites. I too have gotten very tired of expaining the Bush philosophy. I was a Republican until Bush the Second showed me the error of my ways. I am tired of being treated like an uneducated idiot by the Republican Party - they assume that Americans do not read and don't think. They need to understand that, with the Internet, we are all very capable of checking the facts no matter where we live. Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

You know, I the States on December 10, 2001 after 23 years in Los Angeles. Since then, I have never once felt like returning. As a brown man, to be frisked when I re-entered my own country was not something I looked forward to. Nothing that my friends told me made me think, well, I shouldn't have left. An unending war, no increase in wages, education neglected, basic stagnation of the spirit through inaction and a an irrational fear of others in the world. Since I left, I've gotten married and had a daughter recently. My wife keeps asking me, when will you take me to the States. In the few months, Barack Obama's life story and his obvious dedication to uprightness, intellectual curiousity and approach, as well as his obvious connection to the American people has filled me with so much pride and hope that I'm missing the States everyday! It seems that in spite of the difficulties there, finally have someone who is willing to do the hard work to bring America back to the top in its finest avatar! I, for one, can't wait to land at after November 4th! It will finally be good to get back home! OBAMA 08! Ravi Vora Los Angeles, California / Pune, India

Real Change
There will never be real change until the system changes. As a start, this would mean: - No more armed forces of any kind at all. Get rid of the war machine. - No more mindless over-consumption, advertising and television culture. - No more dependence on automobiles and environment-threatening technologies for the sake of money-making. - No more infinite corporate freedom. - Legalize all drugs. - Freedom for anyone in jail for anything drug-related. - Abolish capital punishment. - The outcome of US elections severely influences the lives of others in the world, therefore everyone in the world should be allowed to vote in US elections. - Give up our comfortable, resource-wasting way of life and learn to live like some of the people do in countries whose societies we've ruined as a result of our backward, opportunistic foreign policies, like Haiti or Nicaragua. As long as the United States keeps its greedy, violent, egotistical wasteful system, nothing will ever change. No to McCain, no to Obama! No to the same two parties, election after election!

I support Senator Barack Obama because he is a good husband, father, leader, motivator and very intelligent. I firmly believe that under an Obama/Biden administration, America will once again be the most powerful country in the world. Never before have I been interested in the politics of the United States but this time is different. People of America, you have this once in a lifetime opportunity knocking on your door, please do not throw it away. God bless!!
