Whither the influence of special interest groups if you have 1.5 million people funding a campaign?

1.5 million people! That's an astounding number of people putting their money where their beliefs are.  The Obama campaign announced their 1.5 millionth contributor today.

Augurs well for the general election campaign.

The REAL public financing

The Obama campaign has proven that the American people are ready for public financing of campaigns, at least for campaigns that pique the interest of the people. His campaign has literally been financed by the public, with 1.5 million (so far) donors making small to mid-level contributions. Obama is empowered as a candidate because his support comes directly from the people! Kevin M
