Where we stand now:
The Obama campaign lists 30.5 delegates to go for Obama to secure the nomination on their blog posts; 29 to go on the website main page.
Associated Press called the nomination for Obama at 1:40 today. The Clinton campaign called it a lie.
Same old same old? Or new information?
Status: Polls will close in the last two primary states. Obama will hold his rally. Clintonistas will rally, or rail, then rally. Soon it will be over.
Today, the Clinton campaign said AP was wrong in saying Clinton would concede tonight. Both McAuliffe and Ickes said it was 100% inaccurate.
“Mr. Obama does not have the nomination, will not have the nomination, in my view, he won’t have it tonight. Nor will Mrs. Clinton, and they’re going to continue to make their case to the uncommitted superdelegates, " Mr. Ickes said.
Turns out, AP said Clinton would concede that Mr. Obama had won enough delegates to secure the nomination; they stuck by their report.
Does the protesting matter?
Break out the champagne! Indisputably, whether tonight, tomorrow, numbers will be in. Obama has it locked. (
