Doesn't Make Sense Item of the Day

Michigan Democratic Chairman Mark Brewer says the party has the right to stop anyone who voted Republican from voting in a revote. (NY Times article here)

Turns out that many voters, being denied the full dance card of Democratic candidates in their primary, crossed over rather than choose Hillary.

Having done that, voted in the other guy's party, Brewer won't let them say they're still Democrats. He's all for a redo, but if you voted Republican in the first one, you can't redo it. Got it?

Where's the gall?

Right here: Brewer claims he's sorry some Democrats couldn't vote in the redo.

''I regret that that might be the case, but it's a national party rule and we have no choice but to follow it,'' he said.

This, from the State party that caused the problem in the first place - for making a choice to not follow a national party rule. What gall!

Doesn't Make Sense Item of the Day

How did we ever et into this mess in the first place? This should not have happened, but, for whatever reason, it did. Bottom line, to me, is that all of the candidates agreed to the rules. The time to challenge them would have been when they were being proposed. Since they did not do that, the rules are the rules. Michigan and Florida delegates and super delegates should not be seated. Doesn't get more simple than that in my mind.

You're Right

Hi, You're right. In an opinion article in today's NY Times, Carrie Giddins makes the case for sticking to the rules, sucking it up and moving on. How did we get into this? Parties approved it. How do we get out of it? JUst move on. HIllary has been fanning the issue, since she wants those delegates. Fanning the flames just keeps it alive. Let's hope cooler minds preveail. Carole
